Juvenile Justice Mediation is a small, private, mediated session between two parties to work on solving problems that are a barrier to the youth’s progress in the case. The parties might include a parent and foster parent or a youth and a stepparent, for example. Truancy mediation with school staff assisting a parent and youth in developing a school attendance plan is also available.
Expedited Family Group Conferencing (EFGC) is a facilitated conference by a neutral third party with family and professionals. The goal of the conference is to find solutions for immediate placement concerns involving the youth. This process is intended specifically as a support for youth on probation.
