What is Restorative Justice?

Restorative justice is an alternative to the criminal justice system in establishing accountability.  Rather than focus on punishment, restorative justice offers opportunities for healing and rehabilitation while addressing harms done to individuals and communities.

NMC accepts restorative justice referrals from these sources:

  • Schools
  • County Attorney/Pre-Court
  • Legal Representation/Guardians ad Litem
  • Human Services Organizations
  • Court/Diversion (pre-adjudication)
  • Probation
